Is your stepson getting to big for his britches? Then take them away! And all the rest of his clothes, too. The best way to get his attention is to take action when friends and family are there to witness.
Are you concerned that will leave his bottom bare? Then cover it! Dig out the old family punishment strap and “paint” that bright white tail a deep shade of red. Don’t be afraid to add some welts and blisters. Be sure to position him in a way that allows the strap to reach every inch of his backside, and that makes it easy to observe his bodily responses to each stroke. Kneeling on a stool, knees well apart, hands on the floor, is one position that works quite well.

Apply as many coats as needed to produce genuine tears . . . and then apply two more coats with extra zip to really drive the message home. That way his face will be covered, too, with tears and snot. If you do it right, he’ll get pretty worked up, and you’ll find this gives him a third covering - a nice sheen of sweat from head to toe.

Make sure family, friends, and neighbors - whether present for the main event or stopping by afterward - can observe just how well his body has been “covered” thanks to your diligent application of the strap. An hour in the hallway or on the chair is a good start. Consider extending this observation time to include doing chores, such as yard work.

Ask the neighbor to apply a fresh “coat of paint” to the young man’s backside by hand. Position your stepson on a high stool to make this more convenient (for the neighbor). Such an intimate, firm touch by someone outside the family will really drive home the message:
